Cover Crop (Update)

Update! In just 3 short weeks our cover crops have fully established themselves! Outcompeting weeds, fixing nitrogen, improving soil drainage, feeding pollinators and growing organic matter. All of which contributes to healthy soil for ginger and turmeric. If you look closely at the roots in the second picture, you will see the nodules responsible for fixing nitrogen. These nodes contain rhizobia bacteria that produce nitrogen. So proud of the steps we are taking to farm carbon back into the soil!
